Curve Preferences

If your implementation uses the Selector, the curves preferences menu option controls the display of the performance curve. The curve preferences page enables you to perform the following:

Please note that this preference option is not available for certain implementations.

Sections:

    1. Pump Performance Curve Content

      This section controls the content of the performance curve. Click the radio buttons to select the desired curve content output. Non viscous curves can be toggled on an off by the applicable check boxes, this allows you to see the non-viscous curve with the rated curve.

       

      The following for can be defined for performance curves:

       

      1.    Head

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • Rated curve only

        • Rated, min & max curve

        • Rated and all catalog curves*

        • Non Viscous

        • Position, curve label

        • Chart position

         

        *Not supported for vertically suspended pumps that use the advanced Selector vertical pump functionality

      2.    Efficiency

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • Rated curve only

        • Rated and all catalog curves*

        • ISO lines

        • Non Viscous

        • Position, curve label

        • Display rated flow duty point

         

        *Not supported for vertically suspended pumps that use the advanced Selector vertical pump functionality

      3.    NPSHr - 3% head dropr

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • Rated curve only

        • Rated and all catalog curves*

        • Position, curve label

        • Display rated flow duty point

        • Chart position

         

        *Not supported for vertically suspended pumps that use the advanced Selector vertical pump functionality

      4.    NPSHr - 0% head drop

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • Rated curve only

        • Position, curve label

        • Display rated flow duty point

        • Chart position

      5.    NPSHr - Incipient

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • Rated curve only

        • Position, curve label

        • Display rated flow duty point

        • Chart position

      6.    Sub

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • Rated curve only

        • Position, curve label

        • Chart position

      7.    Power - Shaft (P2)

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • Rated curve only

        • Rated, min & max curve

        • Rated and all catalog curves*

        • ISO lines

        • Position, curve label

        • Display rated flow duty point

        • Chart position

          Chart position for Power will be set the same for Shaft (P2) and Input (P1).

      8.    Power - Input (P1)

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • Rated curve only

        • Rated and all catalog curves

        • Position, curve label

        • Display rated flow duty point

        • Chart position

          Chart position for Power will be set the same for Shaft (P2) and Input (P1).

         

        *Not supported for vertically suspended pumps that use the advanced Selector vertical pump functionality

      9.    MCSF

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • ISO lines

      10.    Max allowable flow

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • ISO lines

      11.    Minimum thermal flow

        You can define the following:

         

        • None

        • ISO lines

    2. Vertical Pumps

      The performance curve can show:

       

      1. Pump performance calculation

        You can define the following:

         

          • Account for static lift from LLL to discharge nozzle centerline (in addition to friction losses and power losses) when calculating pump performance from bowl

      2. Curve display options

        You can define the following:

         

          • Pump performance

          • Bowl performance

          • Pump and bowl performance

      3. Duty Point, Primary

        You can define the following:

         

          • Head, rated (requested)

          • Bowl head

          • Pump head

    3. Total and Bare Pump Performance

      Use this option to set the curve display options for Total and Bare Pump Performance.  You can define the following:

       

      1. Total pump performance

      2. Bare pump performance

      3. Total and Bare Pump Performance

    4. Preferred Operating Region

      Use this option to set the operating range of the curve. The range is based upon Percent of BEP.  You can define the following:

       

      1. Percent of BEP

        You can define the following:

         

        • Left of BEP

        • Right of BEP

      2. Display

    5. Parallel or Series Operation

      This option allows you to see the combine performance of multiple pumps in either parallel or series operation. You can define the following:

       

      1. Number of pumps

      2. Display

    6. System curves

      This section allows you to define up to four system curves to display on the performance curve. You can define the following:

       

        1. Static head

        2. Flow

        3. Head

        4. Label

        5. Display

    7. Pump Performance Curve Presentation

      This allows you to modify the following on pump performance curves :

       

      1.   Rated diameter, viscous/slurry performance

      2.   Rated diameter, non-viscous/slurry performance

      3.   Non-rated diameter, viscous/slurry performance

      4.   Non-rated diameter, non-viscous/slurry performance

      5.   ISO, efficiency

      6.   ISO, NPSH

      7.   ISO, power

      8.   ISO, MCSF / allowable operating region

      9.   NPSHr (0% head drop)

      10.   NPSHr Incipient

      11.   Max allowable flow

      12.   Minimum thermal flow

      13.   Submergence

      14.   Preferred operating region

        You can not define the style and weight for the preferred operating region of a curve.

      15.   System curve #1

      16.   System curve #2

      17.   System curve #3

      18.   System curve #4

      19.   Duty point, viscous/slurry performance

      20.   Duty point, non-viscous/slurry performance

        The style of Duty Point primary can be set to a large or small arrow.

      21.   Duty point, secondary

        The style of Duty Point, secondary will be set to a small triangle no matter what arrow is selected at the Duty Point, primary.

      22.   Minor grid

      23.   Major grid

      24.   Background

        You can not define the style and weight for the background color of a curve.

       

      with the following options:

        You can select the following different styles:

         

          • Solid

          • Long dash

          • Short dash

          • Long dot

          • LSL dash

      2. Color

        You can select the appropriate color.

        You can select the following different colors:

         

        • Gray

        • Dray Gray

        • Black

        • Dark Blue

        • Blue

        • Violet

        • Dark Red

        • Magenta

        • Red

        • Orange

        • Brown

        • Green

        • Teal

        • White

        • Yellow

        • Pink

        • Light Gray

        • Cyan

      3. Weight

        You can define line weight value from 0 to 3.  

    8. Motor Performance Curve Presentation

      This allows you to modify the following on motor performance curves :

       

      1. Input power [P1]

      2. Rated power [P2]

      3. Efficiency [eff]

      4. Power factor [cos]

      5. Current [I/In]

      6. Speed [n/ns]

      7. Slip [s]

      8. Torque [M]

       

      with the following options:

       

      1. Style

        You can select the following different styles:

         

          • Solid

          • Long dash

          • Short dash

          • Long dot

          • LSL dash

      2. Color

        You can select the appropriate color.

      3. Weight

        You can define line weight value from 0 to 3.  

    9. Performance Curve Image Type

      You can define the image type to be one of the following:

       

      1. PNG

      2. SVG high quality

      3. Silverlight
