General Preferences

This section allows you too specify preferences for each application.  The "General" section menu determines the values for items such as language, date formats, etc.  The "Quote Manager" menu allows you to choose the default customer and quote currency.  The "Configurator" menu allows you to choose whether you would like the Option Selection page displays in main window mode or popup window mode.  The "Selector" menu allows you to choose the search result columns that will appear on the Selector's Search Results Page. The image below is an example of the General Preferences.  

Note:  These "settings" are log-in specific (they will remain set based on your log-in identity).

• General Preferences

  You can set the preferences for:

   

  • Digit grouping symbol

    You can changed the digit grouping symbol to either a comma (,) or a period (.).  

     

    The digital grouping symbol and decimal symbol can not be the same value

  • Decimal Symbol

    You can changed the decimal symbol to either a comma (,) or a period (.).  

     

    The digital grouping symbol and decimal symbol can not be the same value

  • List separator (Excel CSV files)

    This preference is specifically used with Item Summary functionality in the Quote Manager.  The Windows "list separator" defined in regional settings is used by Excel.  You can changed the List separator  to either a comma (,) or a semicolon (;).

     

    • decimal symbol is comma (,) then select a semicolon(;) for list separator

    • decimal symbol is period(.) then select a semicolon(,) for list separator

  • Display timeout warning

    If checked, a timeout warning will display. The time period in which the warning will display is defined in Session timeout warning period of User Preferences.  

  • Session timeout warning period

    You can define the time period in which the timeout warning message displays.  This value can be set from 2 to 30 minutes.

  • Display Quote List upon login

    You can define your default page after logging into IFE to either be the quote list page (checked box selected) or the home page (check box unselected).  

  • Language

    You can define you default language.

     

    Depending on your implementation, the following 19 languages are available:

  • Paper size

    You can define your paper size to either letter or A4.

  • Date Format

    You can define how you would like the date to display.  

  • Time Format

    You can define how you would like the time to display.  

  • Time Zone

    You can define your time zone.  

  • Observe daylight saving

    If checked, daylight saving is observed.  

• Quote Manager Preferences

  You can set the preferences for:

   

  • Default Customer ID

    You can define a default customer ID.  You can use the "Lookup" function to search for the correct customer.  

  • Quote Currency

    Depending on your implementation, various currencies are available.  Example currencies are:

    2. CHF

    5. $

• Configurator Preferences

  You can set the preferences for:

   

  Option Selection Page

  This option allows you to control how the Configurator is presented in the browser; either Main Window or Popup Window mode.  See below for more information.  

   

  Main Window

  This mode allows you to see the Option Selection Page on the navigation bar. The image below is an example of an Option Selection Page in Main Window mode.  On the left hand side of the page, the Scope List is located and the Category Options are located on the right hand side of the page.  

   

  

   

  Popup Window

  This mode allows you to see the pop up window for the option selection process in the Internal Price Sheet.  When this mode is selected, the Option Selection Page will not be listed on the Navigation Bar.  Once all the Add Options have been submitted, you would be automatically taken back to the Internal Price Sheet.  The image below is an example of a Popup window for the Internal Price Sheet. On the left hand side of the popup window, the Scope List is located and the Category Options are located on the right hand side of the popup window.  

   

  

   

  Prompt to save from Configurator

  This option allows you to control if you want to be prompt to save an item when exiting the Configurator.

  • Prompt to save from Selector

    You can define what information displays on the Search Results page of the Selector.  By selecting any of these check boxes, that corresponding data will display on the Search Results page.  Deselecting a box will hide this data.  You can view or hide the following data on the Selector's Search Results page:

    You can also define the default sort columns on the Search Results page of the Selector.  By selecting the sort by dropdowns, you can arrange the way the list of available sizes displays.  There are 3 sorting dropdowns available and you can sort each one by ascending and descending order.  You can sort data on the Search Results page
